Amazing Original Research of Indiana Professor Reverses and May Prevent Macular Degeneration."

How to use his work to help you eye sight! Read on...

This site is not meant to replace your eye care professional. This site is to make you aware of Dr. Merrill J. Allen, a doctor of optometry, a professor emeritus of Indiana University College of Optometry and his work and research on the treatment and reversal of macular degeneration. His work provides some interesting options for you. More about Dr. Allen's work later.

I am Dr. Donald A. MacKenzie, a Chiropractor with 41 years experience in pain relief and a fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.

My special interest has been in relieving pain, developing and supplying instruments and methods for that purpose. In the past 41 years my clinic has treated and trained over 186,792 individuals, doctors and other health professionals including those in the United States government hospitals and the military services to use my pain relief systems.

I became interested in Micro-current acupuncture for the treatment of eye conditions after the Alternative Health Newsletter stated that I had an instrument that would help macular degeneration. My phone lines became jammed with callers looking for help to treat macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. The article said our instrument could help. I did have a Micro-current instrument but not one that could help those conditions.

Historical literature supports the use of acupuncture to treat eye diseases. I contacted Dr. Allen to discuss his treatment method and protocols. I also researched in Classical Chinese Medicine to learn their methods of treating eye disease. The work of Dr. Yoshio Nakatani, MD, PhD and Kumio Yamashita, MD, PhD at Kyoto University in Japan who discovered electrical acupuncture, and earned his PhD for the study of the electrical permeability of the skin in the 1950's. Dr. Nakatani discovered Ryodoraku (a new autonomic nerve regulating system.) Dr. Yamashita pioneered its clinical use in the 1960's. Now needleless acupuncture was possible and practical. This is, I believe the same system Dr. Allen is having success using.

Dr. Allen graciously helped me design a micro-current instrument that would meet his parameters and could treat macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, cataracts and other eye conditions with electrical acupuncture. The 804 MP uses the exclusive parameters recommended by Dr. Allen on his ground breaking work. See his published articles on this subject. (He has over 250 papers and reports published.)

How does micro-current acupuncture work? The exact mechanism of micro-current acupuncture has not yet been established scientifically. Micro-current acupuncture has been used successfully for many years in treating various other diseases. Micro-current acupuncture increases the blood flow and improves the energy level of the cells in the area being treated. I therefore presume these effects hold true for retinal cells and are responsible for the improvements that patients experience.

Micro-current acupuncture or Electrical Acupuncture, a New Autonomic Nerve Regulating Therapy, is an enhanced adaptation of the FDA approved use by anesthesiologists, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and rehabilitative specialists to promote the healing of wounds and trans-planted tissues as well as to treat pain.

The treatment of macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa patients requires very precise amounts of electrical current through electrodes (pads or probes) applied to the skin at specific acupuncture points around the eye. The procedure is safe, non invasive, and painless and no side effects or adverse reactions have been observed. (There are no acupuncture needles required for this treatment.)
